PTX Technologies has outgrown the word that once described it.
Words can help you understand things. At times, they can also conceal their true potential.
When PTX Technologies launched, “consultancy” was the closest category to what we were doing. Structured thinking, deep domain knowledge, outcomes that mattered. It was accurate enough then.
It is not accurate enough now.
Advice was only the start
The core work of consultants is to advise. They are theoretical masters who understand the problem and hand you a report. What we do is different. We help you build things practically, with the product know-how to see them through. The word “consultancy” puts our business behind a curtain. It shows buyers only a limited part and conceals the rest.
Initially it was the need of the market and our North Star. But as the market evolved, we evolved with it. The work we have put in over the past 18 months has given us enough clarity. On how we see ourselves. And how we want others to see us.
We build and run
We don’t just advise, we also build and run product portfolios. Two of them are live right now. We operate them, and they generate revenue for our clients. That is the thing almost nobody in our space can say, and it is the most valuable thing we do.
- For a major multi-market African data centre operator, we delivered a full multi-product network infrastructure deployment across two African markets: three productised service tiers, complete operational workflows, and the go-to-market enablement to sell it. It now runs under a live management contract to support further product development and service delivery.
- For a multi-site African interconnection platform, we onboarded and delivered a ground-up Network-as-a-Service rewrite: 40,000+ lines of production code, a fresh SDN controller architecture, five cloud provider integrations (including AWS, Azure, and GCP), a Kubernetes infrastructure rebuild, and a new open-source API and sandbox for customer integrations.
We are not handing over a report and leaving. We are operating what we build for clients, fully productised, under contract, in production. And when clients would rather run it themselves, they can. They own all the IP we develop together.
- For a UK network operator, we built the orchestration platform behind an upgrade across 3,800+ connected devices. Live platforms. Live customers. Live revenue. We handed over after 4 months from SOW signature.
A more accurate word
But “consultancy” does not say any of this. It places us next to firms that advise well and build never. It tells buyers we only advise. It leaves people in the industry wondering what we actually do. That is not a perception problem. That is the word doing the wrong job.
So we reshaped it.

This is not a brand refresh. It is not new clothing for PTX Technologies. It is restyling the clothes we already had. So that what was always true about how we work is now visible to the people seeking us.
What changes, what doesn’t
What does not change: the way we engage, the relationships, the accountability, the PTX Innovation Lifecycle or the PTX Innovation Network, which makes the work we do unique. One team. One methodology. Full accountability from idea to revenue. That stays solidly cemented.
What changes is the category word. And what it signals to a buyer who finds us before they have spoken to anyone. It answers the question they actually have: can you deliver this, build it, and run it? Yes.
This is by no means an attempt to reinvent ourselves. We simply recognised that we had been underselling what we had already built.
