The AI builds in the headlines are training and token factories, designed around dense power and liquid cooling in purpose-built halls. A data centre built for the interconnected cloud era was never meant for that, and retrofitting it to chase them is a race against operators who started there.

Inference is a different workload, and it is the one that runs every time a model is used, not just when it is built. Built right, it does not need the power or cooling requirements of training. What it needs is to sit close to the data it serves, and that data is the asset you are already sitting on. Your facility holds vast amounts of your customers’ private data, the data they will not hand to a hyperscaler in another jurisdiction. That data, and the secure interconnection around it, is what makes you the right place to run their AI.

This is what answers the sovereignty question. The platform runs inside your footprint and cross-connects securely into that data where it already lives, so models run against it in-country and under the client’s control, and nothing leaves the building except by the client’s own policy. If external access is withdrawn or switched off, agents and workloads carry on, on the local models. Sovereignty is the resting state, not a restriction.
