Built, and running in production.

Your outsourced product-development team for digital infrastructure, in evidence. Advise, build and run is one business, not three. The cases below run across operators of different shapes. Case studies are anonymised by sector and scale. The assets, the work and the outcomes are real.

Selected work

A multi-market African data centre operator

A network platform, from idea to live operation.

The full PTX Innovation Lifecycle on one client. Market and competitor analysis, product definitions, pricing and the financial model. Then the build: the platform, the exchange infrastructure, cloud access partners, and a portal. Then enablement: collateral written and the operator’s own teams trained. It sells access, interconnection, and cloud services, live in production today, and we run it under a management contract.

A major African interconnection platform

A Network-as-a-Service platform onboarded, rebuilt and run.

We inherited a platform weeks from a forced upgrade it would not have survived: no monitoring, no tests, code the operator did not own or trust. We stabilised it and then rebuilt it end to end. Infrastructure as code, a full data model migration, five cloud integrations rebuilt, a new provisioning engine across two switch vendors, a new public API on an open standard. The operator now owns every line of code.

A multi-market Canadian data centre operator

Platform architecture rebuilt, new service launched.

We advised and built: the dedicated-access and transport platform architecture rebuilt across 4 metros, the migration completed over a 12-month period and the vXC service launched. Network incidents and support overhead fell. The engagement has renewed consecutively across 2+ years and expanded into monitoring. We remain the architectural authority keeping the platform sound, while the operator runs it.

Field orchestration built, then handed over.

3,800+ customer devices in the field, with no central firmware tracking. We built the orchestration that upgrades them, delivered four months from signature. Manual effort and upgrade risk cut across the whole estate. Firmware versions tracked for the first time. Then we handed the whole thing to the operator’s own team to run. Proof that handover is real: we build it to last, and you keep it.

Insights Strategy Development Enablement

Three products from a blank page. Access ports, an internet exchange and cloud on-ramps, defined, priced and built onto one platform. The exchange runs on its own route servers and sells through its own portal, and the on-ramps connect cloud partners onboarded by the same team.

Run means generating revenue. Day-to-day operation under a management contract: orders, provisioning and incidents, worked order by order with the operator’s own service delivery team. Five engagements in, the platform is selling in production and the relationship is still growing.

Development

Eighteen months, two engagements. From a failing cluster and unowned code to an owned platform: a new orchestration engine running every workflow, and a new SDN automation layer provisioning the network across two switch vendors.

Run means a new experience. A new public API on an open standard with a sandbox partners build against, and production incidents triaged and fixed month after month on a shared alerting channel both teams watch.

a new orchestration engine at the core
450+ automated tests, from zero
5 cloud integrations rebuilt
public API on an open standard
12 provisioning playbooks, two vendors
38.5% lower cloud bill, more capability
monitoring and alerting, from zero

One business across advise, build and run.

Run is the hardest part of the claim to believe, and it is the best evidenced: we run product blocks and platforms in production for multiple operators today. We hand over if that is what you want, or we keep running it for you. You choose which.

In their words.

PTX should win the 'vendor/partner who has generated the most value in the shortest period of time' award.
You guys are awesome!

Vice President, Business Operations & Technology

PTX played a critical role in helping us streamline product strategy and optimize our network services. Their ability to bring clarity and speed to complex infrastructure challenges was nothing short of transformative.
